As most here know I have a few vids on you tube, one features the Elka Synthex, well interestingly I have been emailed by one of the team who worked on the midi setup for some of the jarre concerts, noteably Docklands and La Defense, so I will get some info on the famous Laser Harp scenario, but he did invite me to a show he is doing on the 26th of this month, so I will reveal more after I meet him. He also has an old Synthex - maybe I should make him an offer, it needs a new board apparently.[/i]

Not really... the chap I have talked with had worked on several concerts and merely confirmed that apart from lead solos played by giess / perrier (?) everything else is sequenced or running from tape. Due to nature of the shows he maintains that this was the only practical way of putting on a performance of this scale. So thats it really, nothing I already didn't know. I have delayed mentioning this because I know the reaction it can get but there it is. Doesn't stop me enjoying them any less and I would go to any show that came along provided I can get there.

Thanks GeeJee - I have been wanting to confirm my beliefs but didn't want to start a miming thread. The engineer I spoke too is full of appraisal for JMJ and respects him as a composer / musician. For practical reasons this is the most reliable way of putting on a performance of this scale. The shows he worked on are Docklands and La Defense, but he wishes to remain anon.
