Hm, I think there are problems in the middle, the track is freezing !
It is good but after 2 minutes it is becoming boring...

This is officially the first 'WHOA, GREAT!' stuff you have done.
I'm sure that if this gets a 12" release... ohmygod!

What noyau said, is partly true, but granted this is IDM, and IDM
has a root in minimalism in it's nature, it's acceptable...

The drums could play double time at a point though, it would make
seriously great headbanging stuff. :lol:

Overall, atmospheric, excellent, some stuff reminds the orchestral feel of
Aphex Twin's "...I Care Because You Do" album, but it's still got Drukqs influences as well. For some reason I can sense Venetian Snares and Eno here, but I don't know why... :?

IDM is really a drum genre.. why not add some more? Get it out of the 'background' music it can serve now. I think your DX-11 could help with some noisy pads and lines over there...

God, this is so amazing that I'm lost and I'm talking crap again.

The intro is in a dark-ambient/industrial style and more in IDM style after that !

It seems that the record has freezed around 4:00, but whatever, the song is very great

Please render and encode again your song to not have those little troubles of freezing and I'll make it listen to some specialized french forums of this style with a lot of artists and some labels indeed. It please them all, I'm sure of that. And perhaps more, who knows ?!

Hehehe, it's glitch, it's SUPPOSED to do that. I've edited it now so it's more on time with everything else so it shouldn't sound like that so much. Anyway, I'm kinda turning this into an IDM "suite". I'm looking forward to it, definitely. :D

Interesting !

RE: Drums programming

If I may suggest :

Balanese, Chinese, Indian, even 60's Jazz drum /percusson (local library, online).
It will definately add something different than the "tired & used" patterns prevalent on various EM/IDM tunes.

Ok, I want to do something different for the last couple of parts anyway. I'm taking my laptop into school as soon as we get back to record some piano and glitch it up.
I'll search for some samples.

Have you listened to any Talvin Singh?

Talvin is fairly well known through his work with Bjork, his own Anokha Sounds from the Asian Underground,
also some work with Future Sound of London.

I had the good fortune to meet Talvin in 1996 : very fleetingly,
due to my association with a Jazz Saxophonist friend.

Talvin is a very bright wide eyed open minded guy full of ideas.

Yeah, I think his two solo albums are great.

I didn't know he worked with Bjork. What albums did they collaborate on?
