Mac user: Jean-Michel Jarre

Jean-Michel Jarre talks Mac and Logic Pro in latest French Apple profile report

Internationally-renowned musician Jean-Michel Jarre is a Logic Pro user, according to an Apple profile published by Apple France.

The report takes a look at the artist’s work, beginning with his eponymous ‘70’s album, Oxygen, which sold 12 million copies worldwide.

Jarre works with long-time collaborator, Patrick Pelamourges, the report explains, with the latter musician introducing Jarre to the Mac in 1982 (an Apple IIe).

The two men use a Mac Pro with Logic Pro for music creation, using Apple’s software to manage the creation of new music tracks in their purpose-built recording studio. They also use the Mac set-up in live performance, the report reveals.

Jarre becoming a Mac user happened in 1991 or so (I also remember a pic on the Jarre.net forums where he posted on his Mac) and I vaguely remember the reports about Jarre's major usage of Logic Pro on Metamorphoses. :p:

Still a neat article.

That would be "could have done" and it would have been old news in 1992 :p:

I don't know if anyone has noticed the following sentence:

" I will soon go on tour and I'll be able to continue to work on my next album."

The best part of the interview...
"I will release my next album at the end of this year"

I guess this interview was done before the Oxygene Tour 2008 as he speaks about Royal Albert Hall. So, when he speaks about the tour this is what he must mean.

It's a shame he didn't have his mac with him when he did the London docklands concert. He would not have got wet.

For all I care he can use a Mac laptop, and nothing else, on his next tour. Yazoo's Vince Clarke just proved this evening, that warm powerful sound can be attained from such a device. :bravo:

But still, he is about to begin a tour again.

 Another tour. Okay, I won't be greedy but he should play the other countries that he did not play. Then, come back to England. 8)

Glad he's been faithful to the Mac, all these years. :P It proofs how good it is.

I think it's about time to go over the European borders for him. The South American plans sound great, North America would be good too. And Oz.

I think it's time for a new album, too. And then a new world tour (with new tracks and greatest hits ). That would be nice.
