I wrote a piece on Jarre and Jackie Chan back in 2006, as there are some similarities:

First, they both use the existing locations for what they are worth. I dont need to tell you how each Jarre concert is designed differently than the previous one. Houston doesnt look like Paris doesnt look like Athens doesnt look like Beijing etc. But the same goes for Jackie Chan's action and stunt scenes. He uses local buildings, props, vehicles and open space to design action sequences and stunts that are always different in each movie. (This is more evident in his Hong Kong movies than his US movies, which are under studio control.) How can you make use of a refrigerator to make a cool stunt? Watch "Rumble in the Bronx". That piece of hardware was not around to use in other movies, so he used other props in stead, thus creating completely differences sequences each time, like the slide down the sloping roof of a Dutch skyskraper.

The other thing they have in common, is that they are both deeply involved in their projects. They are not just some megastar that show up on the day, do their job and leave. If you watch Jarre's documentaries, you'll see he pays attention to even the smallest details. Jackie Chan does the same; he writes, directs, produces, designs and executes stunts, edits and even sings on his own movie soundtracks. Not always all those things at the same time, but he does it all and with his proper movies you see the Chan stamp all over them.

Obviously, they are both #1 in their field (can be argued, by there is alot of evidence!), with almost no competitors. They both come from countries that doesnt dominate neither movies nor music. They both started out in the 70s with roots back to the 60s, and they are both appointed Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.

Dont know Jackie Chan? Look up his Hong Kong movies from the mid 80s to late 90s for starters; The Accidental Spy, Police Story, Supercop, Mr Nice Guy, Who am I, Drunken Master, Rumble in the Bronx, and others. Dont start with his Hollywood movies (The Medallion, Tuxedo, Rush Hour).
