Ok, I'll cut a very long story short. Normally, we go through about a kettle a year...... why? Because I've a tendancy to 'kill' them and reduce their working life by a grand magnitude purely because... I kill kettles.. don't know how or why, but, it's been an affliction with me for as long as I can remember....
Speaking of which, our latest kettle is one of a very rare breed having it celebrate its first birthday.......

So anyway, another thing... seems now, I can bring back seemingly dead usb controller keyboards back from the dead.......... bought it on ebay about a year ago and it sort of 'died' after we tried to flash it with the then latest firmware and so it's been sat forever in its box doing nothing while we've been wondering what to do with it (E-MU Xkeys 49) and today, of all days, I thought I'd email the manufacturors, detailing the issue and download a load of stuff for it (and install other stuff on the laptop) and so, I brought the box in tonight so I could have a go in the morning to see if I could get it working again or not....

Now the bit I don't get...

Can't tell you how jolly well brilliant this is

WTF did I do?! I have been the ONLY person to even slightly touch it in the past few months - you know, just to move the box so it looks like interest is still being shown and all that...

I just can't believe it... I'm gonna have to nickname it 'Lazarus'

And the other problem is solved too.... it was thinking it was the 25 key model... now, it rightly assumes its rightful place as a 49key model...
