Pacific Star II is the pet project of an unemployed cinematographer named Colin Rich. He used a homemade capsule teathered to a weather balloon containing a pair of digital cameras he bought off Ebay and modified for this project. Considering the budget limitations, the results are nothing short of amazing. Check it out!

Reminds me of a clip with the British TV celebrity (Top Gear) James May as a passenger on board a 2-seated Lockheed Martin U-2 spy plane
cruising at an altitude of 70,000 ft. sniffing at the very edge of space. Far from "less expensive" but almost the same spectacular view.
