Hey allemaal,

Net teruggekomen uit Santiago, met een vertraging van 26 uur.
Maar het was allemaal de moeite waard.
Ik heb in Santiago genoten van het fantastische outdoor concert.
Vrijdag avond waren we uitgenodigd door de Spaanse fanclub, om met z'n allen te gaan eten. (45 fans).
Hierbij was Francis Rimbert aanwezig, dus heb ik maar de gelelegenheid genomen om een praatje met hem te maken, en hem succes te wensen voor het concert van zaterdag.
Zaterdag waren we al vroeg op het plein aanwezig, omdat er geruchten waren dat het plein zou worden afgesloten bij 8.000 bezoekers, de rest zou naar een plein achter de kathedraal moeten waar een 'groot' scherm opgesteld stond.
Rond een uur of zes begonnen de repetities, waar bij ze na het testen van de instrumenten ook nog een aantal volledige nummers speelden.
En toen maar wachten tot het 22:30 zou worden. Het was warm en gezellig op het plein dus de tijd ging snel voorbij.
Het concert was fantastisch met de kathedraal op de achtergrond. Vuurwerk geintegreerd in de show, en op de maat.
Het was de bijna volledige 2010 tour tracklist, dus wat dat betreft niets nieuws. Maar de show en de setting erom heen was echt grandioos. Gewoon zoals we Jarre kennen als vanouds. Hier is hij toch de meester in.
Uiteindelijk mochten er trouwens 13.000 mensen op het plein stond in de krant de volgende dag.
De volgende ochtend naar het vliegveld, heeft het vliegtuig 2 uur vertraging (waardoor we ook de ansluitende vlucht zouden missen, maar dat terzijde).
Zitten we wachten bij de gate, en wie zien we verderop zitten.....Jean Michel. Ik snel de krant gepakt waar een artikel van het concert in stond en naar hem toelopen voor een handtekening. Heb hem nog even de hand geschud en een klein babbeltje gemaakt. Ondanks de vertraging kon mijn dag al niet meer stuk.
Uiteindelijk stapte Jarre (met Fiona e.a.) ook nog in ons vliegtuig, uiteraard businessclass dus daar hadden we verder geen toegang toe. Helaas.

Het concert is met een uur vertraging volledig uitgezonden op TV Galicia, en ook op de satelliet.
Op Usenet staat een die tv uitzending, maar helaas is daar de 16:9 uitzending op genomen in 4:3 dat geeft een heel vertekend beeld.
Sowieso was het een heel vervelende uitzending door de vele bewegingen die de camera's maakten (er waren 10 camera's bij).
Ik heb het volledige concert opgenomen in HD, en zal weldra beginnen met uploaden naar YouTube.

Is there any interest if I upload the video's to Megaupload, like the dvd of the romanian concert? Or is youtube good enough?

Just returned from Santiago, with a delay of 26 hours.
But it was all worth it.
I have enjoyed the great outdoors Santiago concert.
Friday evening we were invited by the Spanish fan club, all together at dinner. (45 fans).
Also was Francis Rimbert present, so I took the opportunity to chat with him, and wish him best wishes for the concert on Saturday.
Saturday we were early on the square, because there were rumors that the plaza would be closed at 8,000 visitors, the rest would go to a plaza behind the cathedral where a 'big' screen was drawn.
Around 6 pm rehearsals started, where after the testing of the instruments they also played a few complete songs.
Then we had to wait until 10:30 p.m.. It was warm and cosy on the square so the time passed quickly.
The concert was fantastic with the cathedral in the background. Fireworks integrated into the show, and on the beat.
It was almost full 2010 tour song list, so nothing new in that respect. But the show and the setting around it was really magnificent. Just as we know Jarre as ever. In these performances he is still the master.
Eventually there were also 13,000 people in the square, the newspaper the next day.
The next morning at the airport, the plane was delayed 2 hours (which we would miss the flight onnections, but that aside).
Are we waiting at the gate, and who did we see there ..... Jean Michel. I quickly grabbed the newspaper where an article of the concert was the goal, and I went to him for an autograph. 've Just shaken hands with him and made a little chat. Despite the slowdown was my day was great!
Ebentually Jarre (and Fiona) stepped also in our airplane, business class so obviously there we had no access. Unfortunately.

The concert is with one hour delay, completely aired on TV Galicia, and also on the satellite.
On Usenet, there is a television broadcast, but unfortunately there is the 16:9 broadcast on 4:3 taken that gives a very distorted view.
Anyway it was a very unpleasant reception with many movements that made the cameras (there were 10 hidden cameras).
I have the complete concert recorded in HD and will soon begin uploading to YouTube.

Very exciting reading, Eliane, congrats. What impressed me in this particular show is that the fireworks where so nicely matched to the music.

(PS: I asked this on the Dutch forum too) Have you seen the TV broadcast and if yes: did the TV broadcast do justice to the concert?

In my opinion the TV broadcast did not do justice to the concert, too much camera movements. I like the on stage camera shots though.
But we have to honest and say that with these concerts you can never document this well in 2 dimensions.
I was there and it was really the best Jarre concert of the last 10 years. And if I see the reactions on my youtube movies all people who were there agree on that.
It was so impressive, that I still get goosebumbs every time I watch the video's.

I can make a great dvd with these files.

You need to do 3 things:
1. find info about ALL these video files (total duration, resolution, bitrate, interlaced or not and so on). Use a free program like SUPER http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html , drag and drop each file, double click their name and copy the file info of each video to a text file, upload the file and send it to me. Send me also some screenshots (use vlc or bsplayer for that).

2. convert these files to dvd format (with SUPER or other programs, we'll see later). I will tell you what parameters you must enter after you follow the first step.

3. archive the result to RAR format, splitted to 250m parts (should be around 4.1gb total), upload these archives on megaupload and send the links to me.

After that I can make a menu and chapters with TMPGEnc (the best dvd maker), and upload the final result for this forum.

Sounds good or it's a waste of time?
