Essentials sounds to me another rehash of what has been released previously, so a bit of a unwelcomed set in terms of hard nosed Jarre fans. But if the second disc is rumoured to be unreleased material from the past 40 years, this could mean anything really. It could mean tracks unreleased on CD previously as well as old "newly" discovered material. We will not know until we get a confirmed and finalised track listing.

The only thing that bothers me about the "rare" material..... FDM has a nasty habit of editing down tracks. So there could be a question mark hanging over this material to whether they are in their entirity.
Jarre concerts attended - Destination Docklands 1988 - Paris La Defense 1990 - Europe In Concert 1993 (Manchester & London) - Oxygene Tour 1997 (Birmingham)

Remixes were released under title of Jarremix in 1995, so I don't think Rarites will include remixes. Maybe 1 - 2 one, or some, but not the entire album.
No need to explain again ; rarites are rarites. Simple as that. Cartolina, Deserted Palace, so on, so on...

If I would buy this album is because of Rarites. I'm very happy the biggest hits gonna be released again for the 36th times as Essentials.

Cartolina is released on Labrador, which was co-owned by Francis Dreyfus.

For the post Oxygene stuff, I'm hoping for the Equinoxe 4 12", Equinoxe 7&8 A La Concorde 7", Magnetic Fields 4 single version, Zoolook 12", Zoolookologie 12", RV4 12", Eldorado 1995 version, etc. But this is hardly Essential, though.

I still think it's long overdue for a good boxset, crammed full of goodies.

ZZERO, is it true that negotiations had broken up between Dreyfus and AP some days ago? This is what I can understand on your forum so far.....

This might mean , total uncertainity regarding which tracks will release / what can release. And when.

Why are people hoping on a CD release containing remixes and other stuff we already have?

That information has been given by our friend an FJARRE.COM forum member SERGIO KEYS, not me. As far as I know people at DREYFUS have been working in this release since the first day till today, when I have been noticed by them about the new album tittle ("Essentials & rarities").
