On one of the many searches on the internet for rare synthetic gems, I found this rare 1978 version of Equinoxe 5. It's only on the single to my knowlege, but I love it. Here it is. Anyone else agree that this should've been on one of the rarities cds?

There should be a thread somewhere on here as we have discussed this at some length, the differance between the Eq5 synth lead and organ lead versions.

I thought there were only 3 rarities albums?

I listen to JMJ all the time, but I never actually read his complete official/bootleg discography, so I guess I missed that the first time around. :/

The original mix of Equinoxe 5 was on the 1978 LP and any other repressings until 1983. To my knowledge the 7" and album mix were identical.

The mix used since dates from 1983, and was released on 'The Essential' and - I think - subsequent repressings of the 'Equinoxe' LP.

Jarre's catalogue was in the process of it's first pressing on CD in 1983, and the original mix has never been released on 'Equinoxe' on CD.

My preference is for the original vinyl mix myself.

2010 Tour - The 02 Dublin The 02 London (10-10-10)

Rarities 4-8 is all kinda bleh. Audience recordings and stuff and most of it is not even rare.

Having said that, Rarities 3 is full of mistakes too.
