Actually, it wasn't that far above me. There was no wind up above the height of the stage, unless you want to tell me that the roof of the Fairmont, or that the approach from the tunnel down to the port isn't that high?Robi wrote:But stage was some metres above the audience!MsMotty wrote:Robi, I was there. You only need room temperature to disperse that sort of smoke, so the 28/29 degrees that was in Monaco was more than enough to kill it off before it went very far. I was watching them trying to use it before the concert and it was only going a few feet and then it was completely gone. It was going where they wanted, but just not lasting, killed off by the heat. The more you are above of something, the more wind you experience...
Anyway, smoke used for laser just flew and flew away during RV 2 and 3.....tell me the transmission was bad.![]()
Or it is up to technique issue.
I must admit that I too thought there was no wind from the footage by the way the smoke form the fireworks just lingered there for some time afterwards. Wind would have disspersed it quicker if it had had of been there.MsMotty wrote:Actually, it wasn't that far above me. Coming down from the end of the tunnel I was actually above the stage height and walking back that way after the concert there was no wind.![]()
No, it wasn't a technical problem, simply the heat. We deal with Cardice (dry ice) on a daily basis. You only need to put in under a cold tap to get rid of it and given that the lab is a constant temperature, the resulting smoke very rarely leaves the sink the cardice is in. They are using a blower so the smoke goes a little further, but, because of the heat, it doesn't go much further than a few feet before it is completely dissolved.
Here is what I think what happened, the issues of RV3 and Rv2 were different.Jon wrote:I must admit that I too thought there was no wind from the footage by the way the smoke form the fireworks just lingered there for some time afterwards. Damn you... I also want oneElianne wrote:(I do have the laserharp myself and so have some experience)
As far as I could judge from the TV broadcast, they also mixed real noise in (same technique at Merzouga BTW), so the false audience noise is rather an enhancement, not the only noise to be heard.Elianne wrote:Well extra audience sounds at the end of a song I could understand from a tv/radio perspective, but then why not hanging a microphone above the fans.
Worst of all are those artificial claps from the clapmachine.
