Jean-Michel Jarre pays tribute to the work of his father, Maurice
Jean-Michel Jarre, just out of his masterclass dedicated to the memory of his father, Maurice Jarre, certainly one of the most anticipated events of the festival. Indeed, this is the first time the composer Lyon publicly expressed about his father, famous composer of film music (Doctor Zhivago in 1965, The Dead Poets Society in 1989 in particular).
Longer angry with his father, who was exiled to the United States after being separated from his mother, Jean-Michel Jarre said It was important to honor him, especially here in Lyon." The composer admits having "Long suffered from this relationship "prior to reconcile with him just before his death in 2009. He then offered the public a moving testimony about the work of his father: " He revolutionized the music scene, he has created his 5.1 sound before the letter. And without wishing to psychoanalysis counter, if I done little film music is that it was actually the territory of the father."
