ZOOLOOK EXPERIENCE - TEASER (FR) : [URL=

Missing the jungle: non genetically modified corn and Guarani herbal drink over the fire...

Source:Her most recent trip to Sau Paulo Brazil was part of a film recreating Jean Michel Jarre’s ZOOLOOK Project where Jean travelled the world recording samples of different languages. Jones was sent to spent time with the indigenous Guarani tribe where she created a sample library of the native instruments for people to download and reuse.
“They have a really interesting perspective on music as it’s not just entertainment for them it’s more of a ritual to reach spiritual enlightenment,” explains Jones. “We would sit around fires as the elders shared their knowledge of their ancestors from over 2,000 years ago and that’s how the tribe educates their young. Hearing some of these stories in the ancient language translated into Portuguese and then English was really interesting. Being part of these music rituals I felt like I came out the jungle a new person. It will definitely change the way I write music for now on.”
But it is not Jean but Jean-Michel.melo wrote:Another Simonne Jones interview:
