+1  ...problem is, do they get a second chance or are they going to offer some time to participate?

Mike Oldfield could be a bit hard nut to cack. I can see him sitting in the studio with crossed arms ranting "not without the celtic bagpipe and some mandolin". :P
Still it's an emotional dream for many people including me ofcourse.

More... Crystal Method, The Chemical Brothers, Front Line Assembly, VNV Nation, Moderat, Celldweller, Vector Lovers, Rone, Chateau Marmont, Oceanlab, Above & Beyond

the list never ends.
Yes of cause : Moderat also for me :)

There is a collaboration from Christopher von Deylen (Schiller) and Mike Oldfield :fine:
Really amazing . http://www.amazon.de/Morgentau-feat-Mik ... B001SVMRVU

But as I know, first there was "Morgentau" by Chis, and later Mike added the guitar part.
So I think Mike is not a "hard nut" , but we don´t know about personal Feelings between Mike and Jean Michel. Maybe they can`t work together ?

Front Line Assembly or Delerium as they're also known by, would be fantastic. They've sampled a lot of Vangelis in the past

I don't know. In my opinion, he should really do something with either David Gilmour or Roger Waters. That's because they, like Pete Townshed, added electronic elements to rock music. For example, "On the run" from "Dark Side of the Moon", "Welcome to The Machine" from "Wish You Were Here" and elements from "The Wall".

But I think that's just me, being a huge fan of both JMJ and Pink Floyd  .

Yes why not. At least they've got some truly extravagant performances in common. :)

Ozric Tentacles also uses loads of synths and electronica in their spacy progrock (spacerock)

Personal list of collaborations I'd really enjoy:

The more obvious choices:
  • - Vangelis
    - Mike Oldfield
    - Daft Punk
    - John Williams
    - Alan Howarth
    - Madonna
    - Kitaro
    - Philip Glass
    - Rick Wakeman
    - Jon Anderson
The lesser obvious choices:
27-11-10: Ahoy Rotterdam
22-11-16: Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam
01-07-25: Palais royal de Bruxelles/Paleizen Plein Brussel

I'd add to that list The Art of Noise, they used the fairlight quite a bit & Anne Dudley is a fantastic pianist.
In my opinion they contributed a lot to the electronic music scene in the 1980s
And I agree with Mike Oldfield, that I would love to see happen :)

Mike Oldfield is a no.
Mike has said himself in his Facebook group that JMJ never asked him.

You forgot Townshend for a 2nd piece (see Mojo)... :fine:
All confirmed except the last 4 (none of them nor JMJ did confirm yet, some other sources mentioned them though), especially Chemical Brothers seem to be out (source) :?

Now that I think about it, I'd love for Jarre to do a collaboration with Carlos Resoort/4 Strings. Not the best known, but they made two incredibly well known tunes and honestly I'd love for them to make new music again also.

The Silmarillia (1997) / (2007) and Take Me Away
27-11-10: Ahoy Rotterdam
22-11-16: Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam
01-07-25: Palais royal de Bruxelles/Paleizen Plein Brussel
