The French composer and godfather of electronic music Jean-Michel Jarre turned 70 this year. In "Van Gils & Gasten" he looks back on his long career. He talks, among other things, about the problem of bringing electronic music to an audience. "In the very beginning, I was convinced that we needed to find a kind of grammar to bring electronic music by linking visual things to it," says Jarre. "And when you see festivals like Tomorrowland, it is very similar to what I did a long time ago."

1. Jarre has said the large concerts "vampiresed "(spelling?) the music
2. JMJ isn't as famous as he once was (after his long lay off and T&T)
3. There's not the money to put on large shows these days.
4. Security at large event due to recent terrorism would be a nightmare.
