The idea of re-creating Houston or other concerts via VR sounds interesting to him.

PSB realized the same thing with DiscoVery Live, but still released it on DVD with PCM 48khz audio, which is far better than no release at all ;)

Exactly. Those were recorded for SD and won't benefit from HD upscaling at all.

ugh, the connection keeps resetting, I can't really make out what is asked and what is answered...

Unless there's bonus content like for instance MF1 from the VHS version (which I very much doubt) then color me nonplussed

What a pathetic excuse this is

I don't recall "oh no, we can't re-release Revolutions because Roland D-50 has only 8-bit samples" ever being a problem. FFS

About the length of the concert: it was due to technical restrictions, which I didn't really understand. Something with 300 MB...

The chat has ended.

I can imagine HD can cause problems (there's enough upscaled from DVD Blurays out there which is pretty cheap and useless), but a DVD transfer would be a lot easier and less complicated.

But it's still a pathetic excuse. Had resolution been the real cause the answer should be "the concerts are not in HD, so while Blu-ray doesn't make sense they can be released on DVD". Clearly there is no will.

Today is the release of WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE the Blu-Ray&CD and Vinyl. The 2020 New Years Eve VR concert from virtual Notre-Dame took place when the world was in lockdown, we were all living in isolation, confined to our homes which became the central hub of our lives and the only space we had to maintain some form of normality. Where work, family, love, leisure and play was all contained inside those four walls. We shared and interacted with the ‘outside’ world via our screens. As a musician, performer and creator of concert events, like all my peers, I needed to create, to perform and share, that’s the only vocation I know. Notre-Dame in Paris is one of the most visited sites for tourists across the globe – it seemed a perfect setting for a New Year’s Eve invitation to travel and celebrate...even if it was just virtual

Eventually the concert was seen by 75Mio viewers from around the world. Today it is released together with an in depth behind The Scenes and MasterClass. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did putting it together for you.

Can someone tell if Is there any new music on Blu-ray or it's the same as CD?
