Jean-Michel Jarre is the first recipient of the SOZA Special Award
SOZA awarded the French composer a lifetime contribution to world music and copyright protection
The Slovak Copyright Association for the Rights of Musical Works (SOZA) awarded the French composer Jean-Michel Jarre the SOZA Special Award for lifetime contribution in the field of copyright protection . The handover took place on Monday, May 13 in Bratislava in the early evening.
Jarre himself gratefully accepted the award and upon receiving it, he said the following: "I am very honored that I was the first non-Slovak artist to receive this award. It means so much to me. I would like to dedicate this award not only to all authors, but especially to those artists who fight for copyright protection. At the same time, I want to dedicate it to the SOZA organization, because these organizations are more fragile than ever in today's age of artificial intelligence. It's important to realize that composers need them and that it's important to protect these institutions as well."
