No, there were a bunch of comments in this thread. The biggest offenders will be fireworks. Especially in the first track. That was one of the most exciting moments of the concerts for me. And you can hear in audience recordings the audience loved it. The director knew (well, must have known, right?!) ahead of schedule when they are going to launch and he f****** missed them. Same with RV2. I guess as a rule of thumb you shouldn't miss the FIRST fireworks in each track.

Also not enough wide angle shots. Phone audience recordings are better for crying out loud! Instead we can watch JMJ slapping randomly on the keyboard pretending to play the Glory sequence or Adiescar pretending to sing or play a bass guitar that is nowhere to be heard in Herbalizer.

I think the critcisms from Jote and Zero are valid if this was an edited film that was issued weeks after the event. But given this was live and edited in real time, for a livestream and various EBU TV channels, I think is was a really good version. For me at least, this current version captures the look, feel and sound that I experienced myself at the concert.

If those errors and missed sections remain in a future more polished version, when JMJ and others have had time in the editing suite to get it just right, then I agree it would be a disappointment. That said, I do agree with Darren P that those 'errors' add to the live, "in the moment" feel that the current film has.

I disagree. The director knew ahead of time what happens when. He knew EXACTLY when the fireworks would go off in "The Opening" or RV2. He cuts to them too late, as if he was surprised by them. In a project like that you need to have the KEY moments written down and make sure you capture them; and you just work AROUND those key moments to compose the rest of the shots. I guess you could even have those key moments preprogrammed to make sure you don't miss them. At least that's how I would've done that.

To me it makes sense for JMJ to have on board a person very aware of JMJ's previous concerts, music, visual cues for current concerts.
Someone from this forum : Aero62, DrJones, Jote, Richard others also.

I just wanted to post slightly off-topic comment, because I have noticed that I saw exactly the same guy as on your picture on the rehearsal evening, so it was 99% you :)

Greetings...

Haha! Greetings back, Zero! I did indeed wear my Palm Angels rainbow stripe track top at both the concert and at rehearsals, the same one that is in my avatar picture. I was high up on the grassy bank by the road during rehearsals.

@chr1998is
"I was one of the cameramen covering the whole Starmus festival week. Getting to see this concert live was a lifetime experience. The cameras don’t truly capture how big this show was. 40 foot structures, Lazers animating buildings twice that size. Lighting drones, huge fireworks and a massive crowd. To then film and meet both Jean Michel Jarre and Brian May backstage after this event was 🤯"

Individual Concert Tracks as MP3 and WAV

I have taken the single audio file I ripped from the YouTube livestream, divided it into individual tracks and saved as both WAV and MP3. I have retained the non-stop audio as a Continuous Mix and added my own audience recording and concert build-up recording from my Sony ICD-UX543 as ‘bonus tracks’ :D and thrown in some square format cover art.

You are all welcome to download the zip files from here:

Link valid until Thursday 13 June 2024.
