PS - anyone recall the chickens hatching out of the egg cartoon laser animations at EIC during Chrono 8 - like a Warner Bros cartoon type thing? I've not seen them on any footage - did I dream this?

Does anyone know who clearly announces '5... 4... 3... 2... 1... 0...' in Chronologie 8 (or indeed the Europe In Concert countdown)? It's not JMJ in my opinion, and I don't think its credited to anyone anywhere.

Someone once said it's from a sample CD. But I've never heard any proof (just like ppl said Aero Opening from the 2002 Aero concert was a demo song for a synth - no proof)

We had a 40th anniversary re-issue of the Concerts In China double album and next month is the 30th anniversary of Chronologie. I still vividly remember going into my local record shop in Preston, Lancashire, UK on 24th May 1993 to buy a copy as soon as the shop opened.

I would really, really like to see a re-issue of what is still my favourite Jean-Michel Jarre album. However, we’d probably have heard by now so I doubt very much this will be happening

However, if it did happen, this is what I’d like to see:

• Remastered and reissued music, including a Dolby Atmos mix

• Second disc to contain all the remixes – Sunscreem, Slam etc - and stems and effects from the album, such as the Swatch beeps and factory sounds

• Souvenir fold-out booklet, with lots of the images and graphics that appeared in the Europe In Concert programme book

• New inlay text from JMJ with his memories of the Europe In Concert tour that hot summer

• Reissue on DVD or Blu-Ray of the Europe In Concert film, but this time mixed in with footage of other shows, not just the Barcelona concert. Also to include a behind the scenes documentary and grabs from local news reports (a bit like the Houston film)

• Reissue of the Europe In Concert Swatch watch…. find a code inside the CD or vinyl to allow access to a limited edition of the watch with updated 30 Years graphics

• The Michel Granger front cover naked statuettes issued as a series of coloured 3-D printed objects, to stand on your desk at home

Given the whole conceptual thinking behind Chronologie was about time, what other album is better placed to become the focus of an anniversary celebration?!

30 YEARS – TEMPUS FUGIT!!!!

If only they could bother doing so. Seriously, Tubular Bells is gettings it's billionth new mix, in Atmos no less. Yet Jarre can't be bothered with a decent remaster

I remember nearly missing out on the 2nd CD single because it was released in a plain clear sleeve with only a sticker roughly the size of a 10pence or 2pence coin on the sleeve (a lot of the shops wouldn't leave the CD in the cases back then of course). Anyway this CD single was released a week after the first CD single.
I also still have the receipts of all things kept inside the double case and according to them CD1 of Chronologie 4 single 16 June and CD2 was 21 June so it may have been released late or the town I live in was slow at getting them (only 2 out of the 4 record shops in the town I lived in at the time stocked this single and iirc they only stocked it for about 2 weeks).
It was later re-released as a single CD (basically CD2 of the set with 1 track missing) in October of the same year (around the same time as The Top Of The Pops clip).

Out of curiosity, was there ever a reason given why the single for Part 8 was canned? I know it was produced by Geiss and eventually sold to fans for a few bucks, but iirc the release itself was officially cancelled. Still consider it the better version of the track, don't hate the album version, it's a great track, but the single is so much better.

Yeah, they poored quite some money in the Chrono 8 release, just to cancel it. There was a video made too.

I did an extended version a couple of years ago - containing the album intro + Geiss mix + album outro. Although it was not from lossless sources. Might have to dust off this project.
