It's amazing to see again this one and all the things that eventually didn't happen like the helicopters and the stage moving up and down the docks.

Watching all this Docklands Footage makes me feel old....Can't beleive it was 18 years ago....I was only 13 when i attended the Concert with my Dad :D

:lol: know what you mean. I turned up in my late 'Miami Vice' style dress sense thinking I would be caught on camera. Soaked to the skin, freezing, followed by a right stinking cold afterwards - Don Johnson never had that in Miami

We were there more or less when the gates were open around Midday
We have relatives in Hammersmith so we travelled down to London on the Saturday morning parked our car at the relatives and then caught the Tube to Canning Town and walked the rest (which isn't that far,but they had no docklands light railway back then)and then onto the concert then stayed over the night after the concert at our relatives,so it wasnt such a fuss for us to travel back.

if i recall rightly we didnt get that much rain on the Saturday night,although we did get wet,we had seating so it wasnt so bad as we didnt have to stand all day but it was bloody cold,but for a 13 year old and only being my 2nd concert ever(First was DM in 86 for the Black celebration tour with my Auntie when i was 11)it was a night I will never forget,I remember there being a report on it on BBC radio 1 a few days later and Bruno Brookes who was one of the premiere DJs back then slagged it off and said he left partway through Ind Rev Overture(or the opening mechanical whine track as he put it)he said it sounded like they were still builiding the scaffolding for the stage and left because he thought it was all overhyped and waste of money and went home to get warm!!....

What An ass...


Its amazing how people don't really give a hoot,taking into account his status at the time I would say he probably got free Tickets anyway which is wrong,when he doesn't care much for the Music or Jarre,he must have known what the Music was gonna be like,being a DJ on the national radio station and taking into consideration he must have had promos of Revolutions material way before the Concert and he must have known Jarre's discography so if he thought it was Shit why the hell did he go at all...


I also remember 2 guys dressing up in Silver space suits for the concert.....

I wish My dad would have had a Camcorder back then...

I went to London with a mate and would be joined by another friend who would meet us at St. Pauls at 5pm. He turned up late and had left his ticket at home :x after calling the Keith Prowse ticket agency they said he would be issued a new one and we went to the shop to pick it up, it was closed. Robin then phoned the main shop from a phone box (no mobiles back then) and said he would meet us at the show - what a joke, we went to Docklands and got in, waited at the booth for Robin... nothing! so we went in and watched the show. After we waited at the main entrance in a vain hope to meet Robin, nothing. So we got the last tube back to Paddington and home.

It turned out Robin had got to the gates after the show started and talked his way into the show still with no ticket. He had left his car at Pimlico and had to walk across London to get it. It was 4 am by the time he found the car, and it was near 6am when got home - needless to say he hated the show because of his own stupidity!
