Fusion also generates waste, but not as much. Thing is, the waste instantly goes up in flames... which means there's radioactive gasses left in stead of actual waste. We shouldn't try that at home I guess :mryellow:littlesister wrote:yes, that is true, and I would have less of a problem if nuclear power was generated that way in our power stations..... the Sun uses its fuel very well, to the point that it works to use all its fuel with little to no waste .Finaero wrote:Guess what keeps the sun going?
That's right.
A nuclear reaction.
(Fusion, to be exact.)
The method of nuclear reaction we use in power stations is not fusion but fission...this does create waste, and therein is the problem. Using nuclear power may save the ozone layer.......but could poison the Earth with its by-products.....
Anyway, I support wind/solar power before nuclear..... just a child of the 80's I'm afraid
( sorry for going so off topic...... )
