..... Well, it's not Chronologie 1 is it......? 8) .... but I don't dislike it.... . I think I will reserve judgement until I hear the whole album.....
In it's defense, remember this is a single release - therefore it is likely to be the most commercial sounding thing on the album. If Jean Michel wants radio play, he has to tailor its sound to appeal to the highest common denominator .... to the uneducated masses ( sorry if that sounds elitist , but it is true ) .... regardless of what so die-hard fans think...... Be honest, how many Jean Michel tracks do you normally hear on the radio ? At least this just might get played..... :?

Robin Hosgood on http://www.jarreforum.com/ wrote:yes, the album was originally going to be called Melancolic Rodeo, and the single was originally going to be called Leo and Lea, but Warner saw differently and asked for the titles to be changed to what they are for the moment (and in all honesty, my personal opinion was that was a good move as they sound more marketable).

With regards to the album cover: This is NOT finalised yet - we've been informed that the album cover is still "work-in-progess" and may be "subject to change" with the same applying for the single cover also

Album title track names are also "subject to change" as Warner feel they could be improved on also, again for marketing reasons

now...

The reason JMJs name is not on the single (and hence why no information on our site..yet..) is because Warner are doing an experiment and want to see if the single will be picked up on by radio stations and clubs solely on the basis of the dance music involved to see if it gets any radio/club airtime WITHOUT Jean Michel's name attached to it. If it's popular and gets plenty of playtime during the next month, then the info will be revealed, and is also another reason why things are still not on the website regarding the album since both the single and album title are the same....

also, from what im aware, starting at the beginning of March, there will be lots of promo for the album, but not before - they're concentrating on the single at the moment in the way that they are doing...

so remember "Téo&Téa" technically is not a Jarre track (for the moment) in full anticipation that it gets played without his name being on it

also, Warner Music CZ were not supposed to have released the information that they have done just yet either because of the finalisations and also single-related info (as above)

so.... as soon as we can, information WILL be on the website along with lots of other stuff, but until then, we ask that EVERYONE please get off our backs now regarding this....

and also, please try and keep the Teo&Tea thing in name only without JMJs name attached (please also remember that JMJs own official website at www.jeanmicheljarre.com doesnt even mention the single or album yet due to the above reasons!

You might have a point there. C'est La Vie was probably also very commercial sounding compared to the other tracks on the album, especially as Natacha Atlas was famous.

EDIT: Thanks for posting those information PMgep. I don't like that Warner are twisting names etc only to earn more money. I still understand that Warner is a huge business, it was just different at Dreyfus, I think.

This is all a bit confusing to say the least . . . . . . . . . or JMJ has gone Pete Tong

I still think it's a cool track, but I hope the album will contain less commercial material.

My main problem with this track is the following:

It has no main melody whatsoever

which is not quite something that I'd expect from a JMJ track.
