Now you may love Teo & Tea or you may really hate it but I think this Forum overall is really a positive experience wheras I'm really getting tired of Lee Sainsbury at the JarreUK forum.

I'm sure he is a very cool guy but he is so negative in every post regarding Teo & Tea and it seems (though I may be wrong) compounded because he is a moderator there. Everyone has his/her own opinion but why do I want to even contribute to the JarreUK forum when anything good about Teo & Tea is immediately bashed with negativity!

The negative vibe gets really old after awhile. It's like someone who complains all the time. You just want to leave the room. So before I sound like I'm complaining (I guess I am too...I humbly apologize) I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this mostly very positive forum and view of the new Teo & Tea album.

We can have a discussion of the pros and cons of the new CD. But to say Jarre is lazy, a hack and there needs to be a trash can where all the unsold Jarre CDs go seems unnecessary.

It's like that famous quote (I'll find out who said it and post again) that says "It is a short distance from idol worship to contempt."

It's the same people who say "Jarre has let me down and now I'm selling my whole collection -- all or nothing attitude." Even if I didn't like the album (which I do) I would respect that he is trying to do something different for himself. We can and should be critical and have fun but let's keep out the petty comments.

If you only knew how many people who think Jarre's popular stuff (yes Chronologie included) sounds old and tired to them and respond positively to this new CD. I don't agree with them as Chronologie is one of the best Jarre albums but I can try and understand their point of view.

I hope I make some sense and I'm sorry if I singled out Lee, It's not personal (like I said he seems like a smart guy) but he seems the most negative on the other forum whereas here everyone may disagree but we seem to communicate pretty well. Robin Hosgood on the other hand is the perfect example of someone who can hold a creative and intelligent discussion even if he doesn't like something. In the end we make our own Heaven (+) or our own Hell (-) based on our outlook on life & stuff. For me Teo & Tea is a little slice of Heaven!

Okay, now my shields are up and I'm ready for the sling and arrows. Fire away! :)

Of course, JarreUK forum is the successor of Jarre.net, with all the cynical people who still call themselves fans around.

Which is why I made up this pattern chart thing that will come in handy now and probably forever 8)
Typical thread in Zoolook.nl:
[Opening post]
[Stuff about it]
[Hey, where's Ronja?]
[ONTOPIC PLEASE!]
[AaaaanDrOiD, have you forgot to upgrade your firmware again?]
[ONTOPIC!]
[More stuff about original subject]
[Hey, look at my shiny new pants]
[LOOOOOOOOOL]
[ONTOPIC PLEASE!]
[More like ontopic cheese]
[Stuff about original subject maybe]
[ONTOP- oh, carry on!]
[And so on...]

- - -

Typical thread in SoF:
[Opening post]
[Stuff about it]
[Hey, did you know Jarre mimes in his concerts?]
[No way!]
[Yes way!]
[No way, because he does and I've played synths the day I was born so I KNOW THAT so STFU]
[Jarre hasn't done a single good album since Metamorphoses]
[DUDE Meta sucked and JMJ hasn't done a single good album since Waiting for Cousteau]
[Hey, did you know Jarre mimes?]
[Haven't we, like, gone through this every single day since 1988?]
[You know what he should do? Not mime in his concerts!]
[Did you know GeeJee is evil?]
[Damn GJ!]
[What was the original topic again? *checks* Oh if Jarre mimes or not.]
[Hey, did you know Jarre mimes?]
[And so on...]

I totally agree with you Moviemaker!!!

I don´t see the point of posting and talking seriously about this new album anymore on the Space of freedom forum! Not that I´ve been THAT active, but it seems to be a kind of a kindergarden over there.. sadly..

Robin´s cool though!

No I would rather stay in here, this is the REAL forum! :P

Just say it out loud. I don't know what is happening on SOF forum though. The other times I have visited the forum, I got tired just like you.

Come on. We are all the same people. I think there aren`t much more cynical people at SoF than here ore anywhere else.
I call myself a fan, that`s for sure and I`m not against discussing critisable things concerning JMJ. In my opinion a blind fan is the most worst fan. Sure, you don`t have to repeat your opinion in every thread but at least you don`t have to be somebody who says YES to everything.
About the miming quotes that you wrote there. I read the SoF regularly and I don`t read much miming comments there.

I have read the thread about the Teo and Tea webshop here .. Except from Ralf, it seems that nobody is concerned at all that the t-shirts cost 25 euro. In my opinion this is a pure commercially step. I bet that most of you ordered a shirt, right?
That`s ok, but don`t say other people are cynical just because they criticise.

I love 95% of JMJ`s music, but for me JMJ isn`t a god, he`s just a french man with a huge talent and I`m just a guy who followed him to 15 concerts until now

Remember, we are all just the same people and I often read the same kindergarden stuff here, for example the recent posts, in SoF or anywhere else ...

I have no Idea what you have written on the other forum Kuck but I can't agree on the subject about blind fans, or mabye I just don't get what you mean about blindness. Keeping away from miming thread for instance is not being blind in my opinion, it's just a way to reject endless discussions and fans whining about how disappointed they are, and don't want to be a fan anymore because of that.
I could keep on but this topic is not only off-topic but also turning into those idiotic debates.

Just want to add something I think is very important here and now:

Personally, I think it's a bit an unlucky situation towards which you're steering, Finaero, because it is my opinion that the main quality of either forum is NOT to blame the other place for having less open minded or stronger opinionated members, rather than accept that there sure ARE differences between forums.

From my point of view, this discussion, if planned to be continued, DOES NOT TAKE PLACE in this particular thread please. And please also note: This thread is about Jean Michel's new album and not how his new album is being discussed in other forums

I feel that I can be a bit cynical, but I have choosen to not comment on the new album, apart from that I don't like it. I have listened to the album once and to Teo & Teo two or three times and personally I think that it is shit. But since I'm such a nice guy ( ;)) I choose not to promote my wiev more than neceserry since I guess most people know my view. It's up to everyone to get their own opponity. As long as people let everyone else have his or her oppinion, be it possitive or negative.
