What's the deal with this version? Is it available on some commercial release or was it just leaked from some unknown release back in ye olden times?

First I was looking for that Chronologie 4 12" promo release (1FDM0593) but then I found out that it includes just a 3:55 version of the track...

So, anyone know?

I think it's a studio version just like there's a studio version of PLDMF2.

The unedited version was the version I wish they had used for the album. As much as I love Chrono 4, the albums/single release ending with the solo lead is just too short and this longer ending would have fitted better.

It's released on the Black Clock promo 12". It's more than 4 minutes long and has a longer solo as stated before.

Yeah, I know how it sounds like since I have the rather poor quality mp3 that's hanging around on the net.

Which is why I want to get a copy of the proper source and rerecord it myself. So if it's in the black promo... neat, they don't seem to be that rare from what I've seen. Even though I remember reading that it has the 3:55 version of C4 on its A side...

So do you actually have it and thus can confirm it's there? I don't want to start spending money on it before I'm 100% sure (now I'm just 75%) ... ;)

I have it and I can confirm it :-) If I have time, I will re-record it tonight. Maybe I have to polish/wash the vinyl first.

Thanks for the confirmation.

No need to record it if you don't have time, I'll just keep my eyes open for copies of that single from now on. Thanks again.

Yes, that's the 1FDM0593 one I was referring to... and it appears the 3:55 length has been reported for both releases so they both probably have it... then again, that black one isn't as rare so I guess I'll go with that the next time I spot it for a fair price.

I still adore the 'Chronologie' album. Chrono 4 is one of my most played Jarre tracks. I just love it. A real feel good track.

Luv it, Luv it, Luv it! :bravo:

Say Doc, you wouldn't happen to have the Geiss remix of Chronologie 8 that you could post here, perchance? :)
