What a fantastic evening I have had (3/12/07)

Tonight I was transported back in time. Again I felt like a 7 year old listening to that album again, but for the first time. It was 1977 all over again and treading that virgin ground.

Watching the dvd I became easily morphed into the whole listening and watching pleasure. I was like some apprentice who was watching his master at work. This master who took me through 60 minutes of amazing soundscaping, leaving me with "how did he do that?"

Jean Michel, a legend amoungst the greats. A true inspiration to many if not all. And this dvd does satisfy me thoughout that this musical magician can still conjure up a work of art that will leave people breathless and eager for more.

Oxygene 30, indeed a memorable one at that.

Here's looking at the next 30 years.

I'm absolutely LOVING the limited edition box-set!! It's the FIRST dvd of anything (literally) I've been able to sit through end to end without getting restless at any point... absolutely stunning stuff Jean Michel sir! Congrats on being the first person in a long time to do something that has had my absolute and fullest attention! I so enjoyed it to the point where I just wanted to watch those visuals spread across a 3D,360 degree environment to really soak up the atmosphere even more....!

Who the heck needs a tardis to time travel 30 years ago?! Popping the cd into the player, turning the volume up and sitting back with my eyes closed on a comfortable seat has me there....

Job well done indeed!! :D

Hard to say from my point of view. But I like the original for the "spirit" it has. There are still something impressive when I listen to the original Oxygene album.

But in a way I like the new. Some of the minor errors from the original album has been removed. But anyway.

Both albums are great. I also like the DVD-concert version. It's refreshing to hear that Jaare can make mistakes (Oxygene 2 especially). But I like the sound of the concert-version. Really the Oxygene spirit. Back to the roots.
