Well the DVD last an Hour,so they could easily stretch that out for a Live concert with Playing longer Versions of parts 1-6,seeing as its totally live its more than easy to Improvise the tracks,so theres no need for presequencing to make the tracks Longer or shorter,or sticking to a " 5 Minute" version, you merely Improvise as is,and Jarres Probably added or worked out more "Variation" versions for the Upcoming concerts.I'll bet there will be more of a "see where the track Goes" with the Live Concerts rather than stick to the rigid track

I personally Can't see Him doing Parts 7-13,Majority of the gear used for that Album was Digital, and it would need Presequencing,if he's sticking with the 4 Musicians principle.I doubt he could replicate it unless he's done some kind of newer versions using the current Instrument setup.Although it would be nice to see some of them make an Appearance, but not sure how they would be intepreted into this "Intimate" replication.

Just watched Oxygene 3D, oh my goodness me!!! :injure:

The concert is truly a work of art, so to speak. Absolutely pure magic. Jean Michel, Francis, Claude and Dominique co-ordinated as a team in harmony. Jean Michel has made Oxygene 30th anniversary celebration a fitting tribute to the original album and it is truly memorable in very sense of the way. :bravo: He has made me very happy.

I just can't wait to see and hear it at the Théâtre Marigny (9 days to go and counting). :jump:

What a fantastic evening I have had.

Tonight I was transported back in time. Again I felt like a 7 year old listening to that album again but for the first time. It was like 1977 all over again, treading that virgin ground again.

Watching the dvd I became easily morphed into the whole listening and watching pleasure. I was like some apprentice who was watching his master at work. This master who took me through 60 minutes of amazing soundscaping, leaving me with "how did he do that?"

Jean Michel, a legend amoungst the greats. A true inspiration to many if not all. And this dvd does satisfy me thoughout that this magician can still conjure up a work of art that will leave people breathless and eager for more.

@GeeJee - any chance we could have a thread where people could post there comments/thoughts about this release, a "thank you" to Jarre and then for the messages to be sent to him, a way of saying thank you?

That's a great idea.

I agree, even though it wasn't the first album I heard from Jarre it does transport you back to that time when you first discovered Oxygene. For some reason when I first heard the album it reminded me of that French Animated movie "The Fantastic Planet" by Leloux and of course Gallipoli by Peter Weir (this is how I discovered Jarre).

Now I know this sounds greedy, but I really hope he does something special for Equinoxe too.

So why are people buying the 2D Version when the 3D Version also included the 2D version :?:

Probably see a lot of 2D Versions on eBay very soon...

Equinoxe wrote:The Remastered CD???

If I'm totally Honest, this new Mix has totally killed the original feel with this remastered Album, apart from a few additional VCS EFX here and there,if that is rerecorded from the Original score them I'm a dutchman...Its pretty clear he just remastered the original Mixes, apart from a few Noises here and there and the lack of phasered MP7 on part 4,its identical, there is a little more modulation of FX in certain places And certainly a dramatic EQ change of certain sections of the tracks fro mthe orginal, and a larger reverberation overall, but it sounds just like the original tracks with a little more clarity not a rerecording,it sounds so much wider than the original mix,but in some ways sort of ruins the Emotion, the Mix is far too wet, many of the instruments are more present in the mix that needed more attention to pick them out in the original.Ok as a 30 years later version, but not convincingly well mixed to stay true to the original Oxygene concept there's fluctuations in the Eminent string volumes on Part 2,and having the Album at higher volumes, seems to Induce "Noise",which would suggest its more than likely taken from the original mixes rather than cleanly rerecorded.I've only briefly listened to the CD but will give it more attention later.its just merely my first impressions.

I prefer the Original Album version, but the DVD .....Awesome :fine: :fine: :fine:Finally we get to see Jarre actually Play live, none of this poncing around miming....
Ahh, finally someone does a proper review, thanks Equinoxe. I always knew that he couldn't re-record the thing, just like that. That would be waaay too much effort - not to mention it would sound totally different in all aspects. So it is a remaster, and if you say that he's screwd around with it in some ways, than I'm sure, that for me same as for you, some of the magic will be destroyed.

And I was afraid that someone would write "I prefer the Original Album version", as you have, 'cause that's pretty much the story of majority of albums and movies these days, that've been re-touched and "updated" from their past original versions.
Without faith nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible.

Thanks Jerome!!

(If i could record it, but i'm missing certain devices to do it... :? :( )

Yes, today the show will be aired, one day delay...I read the info that Monday is the day...)

"Record breaking concerts, 60 millions albums sold...JMJ arrived for a one-day visit and only one TV-channel got the possibility to make an interview with him...Tomorrow see the interview"

The point.

Then Jerome you could record it, right?

Collectors such as you? :P

Not everyone, me included, has the privilege of being able to watch 3D... you need stereo vision for that. :P

Some people are probably just not interested in watching the concert in 3D. It's not the best 3D technique used, anyway. :P
